BESIDE THE SEA

This bedroom was designed as part of our holiday home project in Southwold, Suffolk. The room needed to appeal to all age groups, from toddlers to teenagers, and also to adults visiting the property without kids in tow. As such the design needed to work hard! We decorated in a warm neutral then added dark blue panelling in each of the alcoves to make the room feel more cosy, along with reinstating a fire surround with exposed brick behind to give a little character. A shelf above each bed allows for a small library of books for different age groups for some holiday reading. Storage was limited in this room so we included a painted chest of drawers (to match the panelling) and some useful hooks above one of the beds for extra hanging space. We finished off with fun artwork and some quirky cushions from a local interiors haunt nearby to give a fun holiday vibe with universal appeal.
